Users of the Allen-Bradley IntelliCENTER motor control center (MCC) can now more quickly and easily add components and make other hardware configuration changes, thanks to new features available in IntelliCENTER 2.0 software from Rockwell Automation. The new drag-and-drop function used to add or remove devices saves time and simplifies hardware changes on an existing MCC.
“Ease of use, simple setup and fast, plug-and-play installation are at the heart of what users have come to expect from the IntelliCENTER MCC,” said Kevin Retlich, product manager, Rockwell Automation. “These benefits are evident in this new software that enables users to update quickly and easily to reflect hardware changes. It reduces engineering time and provides greater configuration flexibility.”
IntelliCENTER 2.0 features new ActiveX controls that allow the software to be readily accessed by a variety of HMI software packages, including Rockwell Software RSView32 and RSView SE, as well as Web browsers. Preconfigured screens (available as ActiveX objects in other HMI programs) reduce HMI programming time and show real-time data, trending, component history, wiring diagrams, user manuals and spare parts, all at the click of a button.
“The ability to view operating and diagnostic data in varying HMI programs gives users greater application versatility and expanded flexibility to install the IntelliCENTER software wherever it’s needed — in a control room, at an engineer’s desk or on a laptop,” said Retlich.
